Kauai Fishing Report for September

Aloha to all you Fisherman out there! Here is an update for the Deep Sea Fishing action we had on Kauai for the month of September. The bite stayed pretty consistent throughout the month of September. We made contact with all of the Pelagic species in our waters. During the middle of the month there was a two week stretch where the Yellowfin Tuna bite was hot. We were catching 50-80lb Tunas are nearly every trip. Our guests had a blast fighting and eating these delicious Tuna! On September 22 we had encounter with a Giant Blue Marlin on one of our Shared Charters. Our 6 guests took turns over 2.5 hours fighting this giant. We eventually got fish to the side of the boat where it was not strong enough to be released. We landed the fish and this Marlin came in at a whopping 481lbs!!! Needless to say it was a sight that none of our guests had ever seen before and they were thrilled with the experience of fighting something that big.

The last week of the month we caught our fair share of SkipJack Tunas and Mahi-Mahi’s, and had a few marlin dancing behind the boat before they spit the hook. We anticipate the Mahi-Mahi bite to stay pretty decent throughout October, and we always have a chance of catching, Tuna, Ono, or Marlin.
