Winter Fishing in Kauai, Hawaii

Aloha! This week in Kauai Sport Fishing action, we are going to talk about what to expect while fishing Kauai waters in our winter months. While the winters a generally slower around the world, here in Kauai we are fortunate enough to stay pretty active. You still have decent chances of hooking a Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Ahi Tuna, Mahi-Mahi and Ono. January can be slowest, but it starts picking up as February and March approach. Being that it is winter, there are fewer “hot” bites like we see in the summer, but there is always a chance of some action. This past week we have some solid action out on the 1000 Fathom line we hooked and landed this beautiful 284 lb Blue Marlin.
